This four-part series focuses on the history and artistry of the major genres of Dominican Music with performances and interviews by some of the Dominican Republic’s most acclaimed musicians. Premieres on Wednesday May 12 at 7:30 p.m. (ET) with Bachata con Andre Veloz. Join us for each date!  Dr. Paul Austerlitz is the Distinguished Visiting Research Professor at the Dominican Studies Institute of the City University of New York. He is an ethnomusicologist, musician and the author of two books: Merengue: Dominican Music and Dominican Identity and Jazz Consciousness: Music, Race and Humanity.
